    Global Risk Management - Risk & Audit (GRM R&A) is a critical function of the Capital Group which assists business areas in identifying and evaluating their key operational risks and controls and, where appropriate, recommending enhancements to their controls. As a GRM R&A Vendor Risk Analyst, you will provide valuable risk management expertise for internal controls related to CG's third party relationships, which includes an emphasis on information technology controls. Assists business areas, including the Information Technology Group (ITG), in identifying and evaluating key operational risks and controls through risk-based vendor assessments, including documentation, analyzing issues, and providing recommendations and/or required mitigation related to a vendor's internal control environment.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Leads components of and/or performs vendor risk assessments, related to both operational and compliance risks and including information technology, from initiation to completion.
    • Serves as a technical resource and subject matter expert for vendor related risks such as business continuity, IT operations, change management and governance.
    • Facilitates open and direct discussions about control environment with business area subject matter experts and vendors in order to identify key risks related to services provided to CG.
    • Evaluates the operating effectiveness of vendor's internal controls identified and provides recommendations or required mitigation as appropriate.
    • Prepares and/or reviews vendor follow up questions and recommendations prepared by other members of the vendor risk project team for publishing and discussion with the business area management and other stakeholders.
    • May participate in vendor site visits on a recurring and ad hoc basis.
    • Provide broad risk management and technical expertise on cross-functional or enterprise projects and/or initiatives throughout CG
    • Perform other risk and audit activities, which may include internal audit assessments, business area risk assessments, global event support, SOC 1 coordination, and other special projects as needed

    SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

    The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:

    • In-depth knowledge of vendor risk management and/or internal control techniques including of an asset manager's core operational business and/or technology functions
    • 1-5 years of risk management and/or internal control experience with vendor risk experience
    • Experience in operating system administration and security, network design and implementation, network and application security, and software architecture and development is preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, accounting, or other business/technology/analytical studies related area preferred.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills including with larger groups and senior business leaders
    • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment in resolving matters of high complexity intellectual curiosity, analytical and problem-solving skills in areas of high complexity
    • Experience in driving results for diverse teams which operate in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent planning, organization and project management skills
    • Ability to identify and interpret meaningful information by interrogating large amounts of data (i.e., data analytics experience)
