    As a Technology Engineer III on the Development Engineering (i.e., Capital Group's Development Security Operations - DevSecOps) team you will work in a fast-paced business environment under limited direction, to design, develop, test, and deliver functioning software. You will be responsible and accountable for tool stewardship and mentoring for several products and as a senior member of a self-managing Scrum team, you will partner with the Product Owner (PO), Scrum Master (SM), and solution teams that utilize Development Engineering products.

    You can influence and build credibility with business, senior leaders, and technical/engineering teams. You are a team player and are willing to mentor less-experienced team members, along with assisting team members to provide operational support for solution teams. You embrace change and are comfortable working in a fluid and changing environment. You demonstrate passion and initiative for continuous improvement and continuous learning.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • You will take ownership of pipeline product development and maintenance
    • Understand and exhibit behavior in alignment with Agile and Lean principles, and the Scrum framework
    • Actively participate, engage, and provide leadership in the following Scrum ceremonies:
      • Daily Scrum
      • Internal and external sprint planning
      • Product backlog refinement and grooming
      • Sprint review and demonstrations
      • Overall and team sprint retrospectives
    • Prepare and present technical material in knowledge transfer sessions
    • Adhere to and continuously improve software development lifecycle (SDLC) procedures
    • Provide realistic estimates, foster a culture of transparency, and meet sprint commitments
    • Create new and update existing feature description, system test, product delivery, and process documentation
    • Act as a technical leader in a particular domain and take ownership of the domain's documentation set
    • Provide guidance, cross-training, and support within their requirements area (RA)
    • Communicate with stakeholders, users, and/or customers when participating in, contributing to, and gaining approval for designs and specifications by example
    • Serve as a point of escalation to triage and resolve problems in the code base
    • Contribute to and help maintain the continuous delivery system (i.e., modify existing or create new test scripts, build or packaging architecture)
    • Provide strategic vision and create roadmaps for product and tool initiatives
    • Identify, recommend, and implement/resolve corrective action for procedural, product, and process deficiencies
    • Consult with and provide guidance to stakeholders on projects and proposals
    • Participate in technical skills interview process
  • Qualifications
    • You have a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience in a related field.
    • .NET/C#, C++, or Java and/or software engineering experience; preferably .NET/C#
    • Python and Powershell scripting experience, and/or an equivalent language (e.g., shell)
    • Experience automating SDLC and/or Development Operations (DevOps) patterns
    • Experience with container development (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and deployment automation of microservices and service-oriented architectures (SOA)
    • Experience developing in both Windows and Linux environments on-premise and in the Azure and AWS clouds; preferably Azure
    • Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL); preferably Microsoft SQL Server
    • Experience building continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
    • Experience using, implementing, and administering:
      • Change management tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira)
      • Version control tools (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket)
      • Continuous integration tools (e.g., MSBuild, Bamboo, Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, Azure Pipelines); preferably Azure Pipelines
      • Continuous deployment tools (e.g., XL Deploy, XL Release, Harness.io, AWS CodeDeploy, Azure DevOps, Flyway); preferably Azure DevOps
      • Artifact repositories (e.g., Nexus RM, GitHub Package Manager, Azure Artifacts, AWS ECR)
      • Scanning tools (e.g., Nexus IQ, SonarQube, Veracode, Twistlock, Snyk)
    • Full competence in software engineering techniques (i.e., an engineering/product development mindset)
    • Experience automating integration, regression, performance, and acceptance tests
    • Experience with Agile and Lean principles (i.e., an Agile mindset)
    • Experience working on an Agile team that exercises Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks
    • Azure DevOps and AWS certifications
