As a Senior Enterprise Messaging Analyst at Latham, you will work closely with Manager of Enterprise Messaging and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of the firm’s global Exchange email infrastructure.  This will include building and deploying new servers as needed for growth, creating and monitoring policies and/or rules that control the flow of messages in the most efficient manner possible, and evaluating new products that may help increase the performance and/or reliability of the enterprise messaging system while accomplishing these and other critical functions:

    • Creating, maintaining, and supporting all Exchange servers firmwide; acting as a resource to attorneys, staff, and management regarding various Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Outlook questions
    • Proactively monitoring and reviewing all alerts and notifications regarding electronic mail system
    • Leading Enterprise Technology staff to monitor the current operation of servers and all associated logs located throughout assigned offices; producing reports as required on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis
    • Installing, configuring, and maintaining mail servers for the sending of alerts and notifications regarding current state of mail servers
    • Installing and configuring secure messaging for client communications including support for TLS, SMIME, and RMS
    • Installing, configuring, and supports corporate Instant Messaging/Live Meeting using Office Communication Server and Microsoft Communicator
    • Leading the Enterprise Technology staff to define standards for the creation of Distribution Lists and providing maintenance for certain firm wide lists
    • Installing, configuring and supporting other non-Microsoft messaging infrastructure including Ironport devices and 3rd party archiving systems
    • Creating and maintaining documents documenting the messaging infrastructure
    • Preparing and maintaining documentation provided to 1st and 2nd level support for daily tasks and preventative maintenance
    • Researching, testing, evaluating, and recommending improvements to software and hardware related to email system
    • Coordinating with other areas/departments of the firm where overlap exists to develop efficient procedures/communications to stream-line processes and satisfy various department needs
    • Completing special projects regarding various issues as needed

    As a Senior Enterprise Messaging Analyst, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Senior Enterprise Messaging Analyst must have knowledge and proficiency working with Windows 2003/2008 Server, Microsoft Active Directory, and an in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, WINS and DNS.  Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 is desired, as well as experience working with Cisco Ironport servers for secure email exchange, and SPAM filtering.  The Analyst must have general LAN and WAN networking experience in a large environment networked across more than one geographic site.  This includes broad experience in Microsoft networking concepts, protocols (TCP/IP), network topologies and different wide area network mediums (MPLS, VPN, geographically dispersed data centers).  Knowledge and experience working with Storage Area Networks is desired.  Experience working with external Exchange archiving systems, such as EAS from Autonomy, is a plus.  The Analyst must possess solid understanding and experience with Windows XP/Windows 7 and the Microsoft Office suite. A Bachelor’s degree is required.  A minimum of six (6) years of experience in an Enterprise setting may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree.  A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience with the implementation, maintenance and support of a Microsoft Exchange 2003/2007/2010 enterprise architecture with over 1,000 users is desired.  The ability to work after hours and on weekends for maintenance tasks, as well as  the ability to be available on call for emergency support situations is required of this position.     Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    • Strong ability to translate customer requirements into industry-recognized design patterns and recommendations
    • Experience with project scoping activities and developing technical roadmaps
    • Hands-on experience proposing, designing and implementing cloud-based and/or cloud-native solutions and integrations
    • Hands-on experience working on migration projects, and understanding of the different migration methods (e.g.: replatform, refactor)
    • Firm understanding of cloud platform security controls, network boundary controls and related toolsets
    • Firm understanding of cloud governance, cost management and CSP account management best practices
    • Depth of knowledge around AWS VPC / Landing Zone design patterns, Direct Connect and VPN deployments
    • Depth of knowledge around the deployment of common infrastructure roles and tools (e.g.: DNS, NTP, Group Policy, Active Directory/ADFS, Web Application Firewalls, logging services, web proxies)
    • Hands-on experience with AWS CloudTrail, Config, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs, S3 Access logs, and advanced CloudWatch configurations
    • Strong analytic, organization, presentation, customer service and facilitation skills
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Configuration experience with CyberArk or similar for access management desired

    CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the full project lifecycle - consulting, discovery, analysis, architecture, design, documentation, building, migration, automation and production-readiness
    • Work collaboratively with other customers and team members, communicate effectively, and foster team success
    • Lead technical discussions both internally and with customer teams
    • Produce high-quality technical design, build and procedure documentation
    • Define operating model and required capabilities for cloud-based environments (e.g.: monitoring, management, tool set)
    • Provide transparent and regular status updates to Smartronix Project and Account Management team members
    • Support Project Manager with SOW ingestion and executing planning activities
    • Support internal solution delivery, managed services and quality management practices
    • Actively contribute to internal Smartronix practice development efforts
    • Support after-hours incident escalations and/or maintenance windows as needed
    • Achieve and maintain AWS, Azure and/or GCP certification levels
