    DEPARTMENT SUMMARY

    The BioPharma Marketing team is responsible for the marketing strategy and execution of Guardant Health’s portfolio of diagnostic tests and services that we offer our pharmaceutical/biotech partners. Pharma partners work with us across translational research, clinical development, and commercialization to advance their precision oncology drug development programs using our molecular insights. The marketing team’s role is to build a clear narrative and value proposition to these different customer audiences to drive adoption of our offerings. Additionally, the marketing team is responsible for building a multichannel marketing plan that supports our business development team and reaches customers across endemic and social digital channels.

    The BioPharma Marketing team reports into the Commercial organization and collaborates closely with business development, product, scientific affairs, and bioinformatics. This role is highly cross-functional in nature and therefore requires a strong ability to navigate a matrixed organization and influence without authority.

    About the Role:

    Guardant Health is expanding its portfolio of offerings and will launch a new tissue molecular profiling product in the coming year. In this role, the MBA Intern will support the launch strategy and planning for this new, multidimensional tissue product. Workstreams would include developing a competitive analysis of current tissue offerings in the market, leading customer insight generation through qualitative primary research, and supporting related workstreams such as message development, tactical planning, and tactical execution.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Generate market insights and a clear perspective on the tissue CGP market landscape to inform our launch strategy
    • Conduct competitive analysis on currently existing tissue offerings on the market for BioPharma; collaborate with competitive intelligence team
    • Collaborate closely with the product and technology teams to understand our product profile, product features, and key differentiators
    • Work closely with agency partners and internal stakeholders to develop a customer interview discussion guide to generate meaningful customer feedback
    • Present findings and recommendations to the marketing team and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Essential Qualifications:

    • Must have undergraduate degree, preferably in healthcare / life sciences
    • Must be pursuing full-time MBA degree
    • 2-3 years of healthcare / life sciences industry experience
    • Ability to review and understand scientific and technical information to inform strategy
    • Demonstrated track record of success influencing business outcomes across diverse teams, even without direct reporting relationships
    • Comfortable with ambiguity at a fast-paced, dynamic organization
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Self-starter and action oriented

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior experience in consulting or product marketing preferred
    • Prior experience in oncology or diagnostics preferred

    Additional Information

    ** Hybrid Work Model** : At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

    For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $32/hr. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.

    Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

    Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
