Department Summary
The Enterprise Software team is responsible for helping our customers get orders in and patients' results out. We do this via various integrations with external customers and internal tools and orchestration. You'll be joining the team responsible for ensuring operations run smoothly within our LIMS platform and the integrations with our customers.
About the Role:
In your role as a Summer Intern - Software Engineer you will be helping the Digital Ordering team modernize the way we digitally deliver results to our customers. You will also work closely with our support team to build out features that support the acceleration of onboarding our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Working under the direction of our Senior Software Engineers, you will:
Develop new features that help accelerate internal processes.
Develop corresponding unit tests / test automation for those features.
Collaborate with other engineers in presenting designs / reviewing your code.
Participate in SCRUM activities as we move towards deliverables.
Qualifications
Completed coursework in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related degree.
Exposure to Object Oriented methodologies and languages such as Java, JavaScript, or C#.
Exposure to a UI framework such as React or AngularJS.
Knowledge of DevOps basics - such as understanding how your code goes from being built to deployed.
Knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.) and a querying language such as SQL.
Familiarity and comfort with Linux and the command terminal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with Java and the Spring framework.
Prior experience with Java and the React framework

All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is Undergraduate $29/hr., Graduate $34/hr., and Doctorate $42/hr . The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
