    Job Description

    Guardant Health is a molecular diagnostics company focused on building minimally invasive blood-based tools to aid in the managment and treatment of patients with cancer. We are leveraging data from tens of thousands of patients with cancer to develop tests with high sensitivity and specificity for patients with early-stage cancer. Knowing whether their treatment was successful could provide peace of mind or present the opportunity for additional treatment with an intent to cure. 

    A major goal of the LUNAR minimal residual disease (MRD) program is to provide a definitive test for recurrence and residual disease detection, moving beyond the limitations of today’s methods. The role of the Intern, Medical Affairs - MRD will be to support the development of key resources to support this goal. 

    The Intern, Medical Affairs – MRD will have the opportunity to research and disseminate key information to support commercial operations, marketing, and managed care strategies and to develop  resources to support medical affairs and sales. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Critically review and synopsize guidelines, abstracts, publications, and conference proceedings relevant to the treatment landscape and detection of recurrence and residual disease for target cancer types
    • Support development of oral presentations and interactive educational tools 
    • Participate in medical updates, scientific presentations, journal clubs, teleconferences, and meetings as requested.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • Individuals enrolled in or completed an undergraduate and graduate program in a scientific field of study are encouraged to apply 
    • Interested in a career in the sciences, health care, oncology, or clinical trials

    TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Intermediate-to-advanced knowledge of the following computer software programs: Microsoft Office: Powerpoint, Excel, and Word
    • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong teamwork ethic.
    • Multi-dimensional in abilities to work on simultaneous tasks and work cross-team. 
    • Self-directed, intrinsically motivated, flexible to changes in an ever changing dynamic environment.
    • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, good attention to detail, time management skills, and personal initiative.
    • Excellent proofreading skills, with the ability to proof for proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting of documents.  
    • Literature search and review skills, including experience with search engines such as PubMed

    Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
