    Job Description

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    The PMO internship has one primary objective, which is to provide a learning opportunity and experience for a prospective project coordinator/project manager, or someone interested in the field by managing projects and being mentored by PMO team members.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Learn and support the document management process. 
    • Set up cross-functional meetings for key initiatives, capture meeting minutes, and action items, and follow up on the open action items.
    • Support logistics tasks and coordination of activities
    • Participate in PMO Team meetings, mentorships, Core Team Meetings, and leadership meetings.
    • Learn how to create dashboards and reports in SmartSheet that will be used to increase the visibility of our projects and resources.
    • Learn about the PM day to day work while supporting the PM team with SmartSheet governance and updates.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree
    • No specific program or project management experience is required, but interest in pursuing a career in the field is essential.
    • Creative problem-solving team player, able to work with diverse cross-functional teams.
    • Comfortable with managing multiple requests with excellent follow-through and strong attention to detail.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite are essential, especially the core (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
    • Skills in project management tools such as Smartsheets, Google Drive, Google sheets/docs, Confluence, and Excel are preferred, but not mandatory.
    • Able to work in a hybrid environment, on-site 3 days a week.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Project coordination experience preferred (academic or professional)

    HYBRID WORK MODEL: AT GUARDANT HEALTH, WE HAVE DEFINED DAYS FOR IN-PERSON/ONSITE COLLABORATION AND WORK-FROM-HOME DAYS FOR INDIVIDUAL-FOCUSED TIME.     For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is Undergraduate $25/hr. OR Graduate/Doctorate $30/hr. The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.

    Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

    Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
