To enable Guardant Health to fight cancer through data, the Reimbursement Team is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern – Reimbursement Analyst to join our team to help analyze our business processes, workflows, systems and data. The Reimbursement team is responsible for collecting revenue as efficiently as possible in a compliant manner with an emphasis on client and patient experience. We are continuously looking for improvement that will help with scalability, revenue growth and improved experience for our clients and patients.  This role will be given a combination of explicit tasks and open ended questions to help identify areas where we can improve.

At Guardant Health, you will be at the forefront of combining personalized medicine with process innovations to improve patient care. You will interact with a diverse team of reimbursement specialists, software and data engineers, client services and management to develop data sets, analysis summaries and presentations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working under the supervision of Reimbursement management, you will:
• Learn the reimbursement workflow and identify documentation gaps
• Understand how various Guardant teams operate and how it integrates with the Reimbursement team
• Produce documentation that reflects current and future workflows and/or systems
• Gather, analyze, and present data regarding the Reimbursement workflow to inform process improvements

Qualifications

• Completed Coursework in engineering and/or economics
• Experience in Microsoft Excel 
• Familiarity with relational databases and SQL is a plus
• Experience with workflow diagrams in Microsoft Viso, Lucidcharts or equivalent is a plus
• Knowledge of life science field is a plus

EDUCATION: 

Students close to or recently completing BS, MS or MBA in engineering, finance or economics or a similar field.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
