    Job Description

    To enable Guardant Health to fight cancer through data, the minimal residual disease (MRD) detection team is seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern – Assay Development to join our highly enthusiastic team to support the development of new NGS modules targeting novel sample analytes.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Support the development of NGS modules targeting novel sample analytes
    • Be able to present the results updates in the Tech Dev team meetings.
    • Ability to document the results properly and write SOPs for the new assays developed within the team.
    • Perform experiments both independently and under the supervision of Senior team members
    • Maintain appropriate inventory of lab supplies
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Experience in molecular biology and nucleic acid chemistry. 
    • Familiarity in laboratory techniques including sample preparation for NGS
    • Experience in ELISA , Western blot and protein assays is a plus. 
    • Ability to perform experiments with the minimum supervision in the fast-paced environment 
    • Excellent written and oral communication
    • Experience with data analysis in R, and python is a plus

    EDUCATION: 

    Students close to or recently completing BS, MS in biology, chemistry, or related disciplines
