Job Description
About the Role:
The Clinical Genetic Molecular Biologist Scientist (CGMBS) Trainee will train and operate in the Clinical Laboratory under direct and constant supervision of the laboratory director or appropriately licensed and delegated individuals when performing high complexity laboratory testing on patient specimens, performing quality control and quality assurance procedures, and complying with all applicable local, state and federal laboratory requirements. The CGMBS Trainee will train with additional departments for supporting activities of the Clinical Laboratory. The CGMBS Trainee will receive mentorship and training so that they may acquire the qualities needed by a laboratory professional to function at the highest level in the Clinical Laboratory.
The nature of the work requires excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask and be flexible with tasks and schedules, and the ability to work independently in a team environment.

Additional Information
For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the hourly range for this full-time position is $28.84 to $38.94 . The range does not include benefits and, if applicable, overtime, bonus, commission, or equity.
Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.
Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
