    Job Description

    ** Purpose of position:**
    Provide financial support to Operations and Financial Management to drive short and long-term business decisions for the purpose of attainment of division goals for Fresh Processing, Prepared Foods, Live, and Rendering. Responsible for analysis of business results and development of projects. Maintain and supervise an accurate period close. Prepare, analyze and review weekly and period end reports to distribute to operations management. Conduct field audits to identify risk and provide findings with recommendations for operations management. Review balance sheet account analysis worksheets on a period basis and make any necessary adjustments. Coordinate with operations management on development of the annual budget and standard costs. Effectively communicate with manager, staff, and operations on pertinent information. Develop staff and create a team environment within the department. Create value through relevant and objective insight.

    ** Essential Job Functions:**
    Maintain and supervise an accurate period close and create, analyze, and review weekly and period end performance and production reports.

    Train and develop staff and deal with any personnel issues as necessary

    Coordinate with operations management to prepare an annual budget and standard costs.

    Conduct field audits to identify risk. Identify findings and propose action plans for operations management to mitigate or eliminate risk.

    Establish strong partnerships with operations management in order to gain understanding of operational challenges and structure information resources accordingly

    Ad hoc requests from operations management and Operations Controller

    Conduct Field Audits and Post-internal audit initiatives as appropriate.

    Ability to use analysis to identify improvement opportunities

    Must have an understanding of continuous improvement and process improvement

    Additional Functions:
    Develop an understanding of the business and have the ability to anticipate questions from the business to aid in decision making

    In the absence of certain key financial positions, may be used as an interim resource

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    _ Education & Experience:_

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
    • 10+ years of demonstrated experience in Management Accounting
    • Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
    • High level of efficiency and accuracy
    • Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data
    • Willingness to comply with local, state, federal, and company regulations.
    • Transactional analysis and modeling skills.
    • Experience successfully partnering and influencing mid- level leadership.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Experience implementing and working with information technology and ERP systems, is a plus.
    • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills and the ability to work in a diverse and multicultural environment are essential.
    • Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

    • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions; use reason when dealing with emotional topics/situations.
