As a Conflicts Manager at Latham, you will be responsible for ensuring efficiency in the daily operations of the conflicts checking for the United States, liaising with attorneys in the region regarding the conflicts process, being the primary point person for escalation of conflicts issues for attorneys during East Coast US business hours, hiring, training, and managing the Conflicts teams located in the US East Coast, and taking the lead on special projects, including staffing initiatives, for the department, while accomplishing these and other critical functions:
As a Conflicts Manager, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Conflicts Manager must have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with attorneys, management, support staff, and outside contacts. The ability to work collaboratively with attorneys in a high-paced environment to identify and resolve issues while providing excellent customer service is desired. The ideal candidate must be able to use independent judgement and discretion when making decisions, as well as display excellent leadership skills necessary for effective management. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor’s degree. A minimum of six (6) years work experience, including work directly with attorneys/partners, at a major international law firm is required, as well as a minimum of four (4) years conflicts experience.
