    Of the 60 professional staff in our Brussels office, 22 nationalities are represented. The Antitrust & Competition team works with mainly international clients. In addition the practice is considered one of the top performing practices in Brussels and ranked tier 2 in Legal 500 for Antitrust/Competition.

      ABOUT THE ROLE

    As a Knowledge Management Lawyer, you will be responsible for monitoring current legal developments, keeping the attorneys abreast of these developments and leading the team’s thought leadership efforts.  Key responsibilities include:

    • Monitoring current legal, regulatory and market practice developments for the practice and preparing communications and tailored thought leadership materials for attorneys and clients (including client alerts, blog posts, newsletters, client presentations and pitches)
    • Providing substantive training to attorneys on competition law matters and with regard to the use of forms and precedent materials, as well as more general training on the knowledge management database and other KM resources
    • Generally acting as a sounding board for technical legal queries from attorneys in relation to competition law matters and supporting their preparation for client or industry presentations and round tables.
    • Utilizing attorneys within the practice to support the delivery of the Knowledge Management effort, coordinating their involvement, seeking partner feedback and review as required
    • Identifying, drafting and maintaining Latham standard forms and practice notes
    • Participating in client pitches and business development activities where appropriate

    ABOUT YOU

    We’d love to hear from you if you:

    • Have a Bachelor of Laws degree or its equivalent
    • Are highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
    • Are a self-starter willing to take the initiative

     

    And have:

    • A minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience as a practicing lawyer in an antitrust and competition practice at a leading international law firm
    • Extensive substantive knowledge of EU antitrust and competition law
    • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact effectively with people at all organisational levels of the firm
