    Work on a wide variety of building projects, including complex geometry structures, commercial, institutional, civic and aviation projects, sport facilities, high rise, and long span structures; work on project engineering of large domestic and international projects from concept and schematic design through construction documents to construction and commissioning; work closely as a member of one or more project teams and assist to complete projects on aggressive schedules; implement and utilize Best Practices for projects and processes; perform analysis and design of structural systems for all types of buildings and materials using various national and international building codes and standards, including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, Eurocodes, and California Building Code; use state-of-the-art structural Finite Element and Non-Linear Analysis programs, including ETABS, SAFE, RAM Concept, RISA and SAP2000 to perform Non-Linear analysis, human induced vibration analysis of floor plates and long span structures, dynamic analysis, and seismic response calculations; develop conceptual and detailed designs, using advanced modeling software and analysis tools, and prepare comprehensive design reports, criteria reports, and quality assurance reviews to ensure the design solutions are compliant with applicable codes and standards and collaborate with other disciplines to integrate their design inputs into the overall project design; produce comprehensive drawing charts for schedules and data, and make adjustments as required in collaboration with the structural engineering team; develop, modify, and review models, plans, details and drawings of structural engineering systems and components according to established standards and Revit modeling techniques, based on input (sketches, layouts, and verbal instructions) from the structural engineering team; check Revit models for clearances, potential conflicts, and relationships of the various parts to the whole and to one another; apply knowledge of sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines to take responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices; create custom nodes for computational design tools using Python scripting language to assure the Revit models are up to date with the latest versions and build systems to automate a few time-consuming efforts in the design process and increase efficiency; improve interoperability between structural analysis packages and Revit/Rhino, as well as use custom scripts with coding software, including Visual Basic Application; provide manpower estimates, project communications, budget monitoring, and inputs, and organize deliverables, setting project standards for delivery; use advanced modeling programs, including Rhino, Grasshopper, Dynamo, and SketchUp to develop parametric structural analytical 3D models; seek new knowledge related to structural engineering practices, trends, principles, and regulations changes, and recommend changes in approach and services as appropriate; visit project sites during construction for reviews of quality, progress, and compliance with specifications and standards; perform site visit surveys to determine engineering strategies for renovation, and to document and evaluate existing systems; coordinate project design and deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate completion of contract documents, including drawings and specifications; conduct project reviews throughout all stages of design, from concept to construction, to ensure that project objectives are met in terms of quality, completeness, performance, and budget; provide technical guidance and support to project teams, identifying and mitigating potential issues and risks; attend meetings with clients and promote positive client contact with current or prospective clients; work in integrated design teams, collaborating with multiple practices across and outside the firm; work on competition submissions and conceptual design projects; identify valuable lessons learned from previous projects and use them as a reference for future deliverables; participate as a team member, contributing ideas and possible solutions, and taking on issues where appropriate.

    Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education, and location. The typical salary for this position is $101,878. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
