As a Partner Recruiting and Integration Manager at Latham, you will oversee all aspects of partner recruitment and integration for the New York office. The PRI Manager will optimize the firm’s hiring methodology, market presence and core relationships to maximize the firm’s ability to recruit the highest caliber candidates in strategically advantageous practice sectors, and will support all administrative department and practice group efforts to integrate new partners hired laterally and promoted internally. As well as reporting to the Director of Administration and the Partner Integration Administrator, the PRI Manager will work closely with firm leaders involved in the recruitment of lateral partner candidates and the integration of new partners. The PRI Manager also will be in broader communication with other members of the lateral partner recruiting and integration teams as appropriate at local and global levels while accomplishing these and other critical functions:  

    • Assisting with the development and implementation of a strategy to plan and manage the future growth of the New York office through lateral partner recruitment
    • Implementing such strategy by means of market mapping research, client-sourced intelligence, and external consultancies
    • Managing the relationship with search and contingent recruiters with respect to lateral partner recruitment
    • Running the lateral partner recruitment process for the New York office from start to finish, in conjunction with external consultants where appropriate, including arranging all interviews and tours, collating and disseminating feedback, and managing all steps in the hiring process with office, firm and practice leadership
    • Supporting the lateral partner recruitment process for candidates from other Latham offices, including creating and communicating schedules, handling logistics, and tracking feedback in a timely manner as needed
    • Drafting documentation and memoranda where appropriate
    • Liaising with partner candidates or their representative throughout the recruitment process, ensuring that they are kept fully informed and updated at every stage
    • Arranging, in conjunction with the New York office and firm administrative teams, orientation and on-boarding for new partners
    • Developing, in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders, an integration strategy and roadmap for each lateral and newly elected partner, and regularly assessing progress, addressing issues and concerns and augmenting the approach as necessary
    • Maintaining a reliable organizational system to ensure data related to candidates is accessible and useful over the course of a candidate’s recruitment process and later if necessary
    • Preparing and communicating statistics, advertising/information materials, and progress reports
    • Completing special projects as needed
    • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers.

    As a Partner Recruiting and Integration Manager, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Partner Recruiting and Integration Manager must have exceptional organizational skills to manage time, prioritize and handle multiple deadlines, as well as well-developed and professional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with and interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the Firm.  The ability to develop a sophisticated understanding of Latham’s various practice areas is desired, along with the ability to perceive and analyze complex problems, and a capacity to make or recommend sound decisions.  The successful Manager must be able to undertake large, long-term projects, develop alternative methods to complete them, and implement solutions.  The ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making majority of decisions is desired. A Bachelor’s degree is required.  Five (5) years of relevant experience at a professional services organization and/or legal experience at a professional services organization is required.  Management experience is preferred.  Occasional travel is required of this position.
