    GENERAL SUMMARY:

     

    Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, the Laundry Aide is responsible for performing a variety of housekeeping duties in order to maintain assigned areas in a sanitary, orderly, safe and attractive condition; performing laundry duties in accordance with established procedures and programs, coordinating specific work tasks with other personnel within the department; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries relating to his/her particular area; attending all mandatory in-services and education programs and required meetings.

     

    Type of supervision exercised: None.

     

    EDUCATION:

     

    High school diploma or equivalent.

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

     

    Minimum of one (1) year experience normally required.

    Performs laundry duties in accordance with established procedures to insure proper infection and disease control as illustrated by the following; Sorts, weighs, washes, soaks and dries soiled laundry and linen, operates washers, dryers and other laundry equipment. Handles contaminated linen in accordance to procedure. Labels personal clothing. Folds, stacks and delivers laundry items daily. Inspects laundry and linen for needed repair. Inspects and issues clean linen to departments on a daily basis.

    Maintains equipment and supplies in an orderly manner and keeps work area clean, safe and sanitary. Uses supplies and equipment according to directions. Inventories supplies and notifies personnel of needed supplies.

    Restocks cleaning agents ibn to washer feeding system.

    Transports disposable briefs and chux to resident units as required.

    Performs all essential housekeeping duties within the laundry area.

    Conducts linen usage studies and inventories and maintains other essential records.

    Washes walls, inside windows and outside windows on ground level, cleans furniture and fixtures, tops of windows, door frames, and other high places, using ladder when necessary..

    Selects materials and supplies, loads service carts, takes trash to designated area, cleans cart and equipment at the end of each shift.

    Empties, cleans and relines waste basket, empties and cleans ash trays

    Maintains equipment and supplies in an orderly manner; notifies supervisor when levels are low, maintains utility room in a clean and orderly condition.

    Cleans resident private and public bathrooms using special cleaning solutions or germicides to prevent the spread of infection or disease; scours, polishes and washes sinks, tubs, mirrors and other plumbing fixtures. Replaces disposable items such as towels, liquid soap and toilet tissue.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Proficient with practice management software and overall knowledge of MS Office
    • Ability to work weekends and holidays
