The success of our firm is largely determined by our commitment to hire and develop the very best and brightest, creating a team that provides our colleagues with the highest quality of work and service. We are driven by our core values: respect, innovation, and collaboration.

As an integral member of the Internal Communications team within the Brand & Communications Department, the Manager will lead the planning, development, and implementation of engaging internal communications and targeted / firmwide campaigns in support of our Global Human Resources (HR) functional teams and leaders. In particular, you will be a strategic communications partner to teams leading staff diversity and inclusion, staff learning and development, HR service delivery, and staff engagement / culture initiatives. You will have the opportunity to mix strategic and tactical responsibilities — and should be equally comfortable developing a long-range strategic communications plan, drafting brochure and email copy, ideating logos, or conceptualizing and coordinating a video shoot. You will work with senior leaders, be a fast and flexible thinker, have a demonstrated ability to work independently, act with sound judgement and confidentiality, brainstorm projects and see them through to fruition, and prioritize/manage multiple complex tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The Manager will also proactively contribute to daily internal communications functions, working collaboratively as part of a close-knit Internal Communications Team. The responsibilities of the Manager include:

    • Leading on all internal Global HR-related communications projects and campaigns, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to understand goals, offering creative thinking and strategy consulting, proactively identifying communications opportunities, and recommending appropriate solutions.

    • On a regular basis, wearing many hats, functioning as a strategist and planner, creative consultant, senior advisor, multimedia storyteller, copywriter, and editor.

    • Collaborating with creative/design, video, and technology teams to develop compelling infographics, multimedia content, apps, and other innovative media that creatively tell a story and capture attention in a fast-paced professional services environment.

    • Developing and implementing extremely creative and engaging campaigns including strategic planning, collateral development, launch, ongoing support, tracking, and reporting. This includes developing comprehensive communications plans and editorial calendars for global and regional internal initiative/service launches, awareness and change campaigns, and other special projects.

    • Providing strategic counsel regarding current internal communication channels, microsites, and portals — and recommending new channels including intuitive visual designs for mobile and web.

    • Reviewing and analyzing data to measure effectiveness, impact, and engagement of communications programs and special projects

    As the Manager, you should:

    • Be a strong, creative, and dexterous writer with the ability to simplify complex information for multiple audiences and craft compelling stories.

    • Have excellent project and time management skills, including organizing, planning, and decision-making; ability to flex to changing demands and manage multiple priorities.

    • Have a customer-focused mindset, well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders and collaborate effectively with colleagues at all organizational levels.

    • Stay informed about best practices, trends, and developments in HR and internal communications.

    • Have practical problem-solving skills, including the ability to perceive and analyze problems and develop alternative solutions.

    • Have the ability to use independent judgment and discretion when making decisions; the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion; and the confidence and comfort to provide specific recommendations to stakeholders and senior management.

    • Have strong analytical skills and technical acumen, including ability to gather, organize, develop, and present data and metrics to help us measure the effectiveness of our work.

A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Communications, Marketing, Management, or a related field.

A minimum of ten (10) years of experience working with diverse employee groups, writing/editing, and developing internal campaigns for a range of different audiences is required. Experience providing communications support for Human Resources-related functions such as Diversity & Inclusion and Learning & Development is strongly desired. The Manager should have advanced skills with PC applications, including MS Office, along with basic photo editing skills; SharePoint experience preferred; Adobe Creative Suite and other design experience is a plus.

The Internal Communications Manager will receive a generous total compensation package. Discretionary bonuses, as well as profit-sharing partnership contributions to 401(k) accounts, may be awarded in recognition of individual and firm performance. Eligible employees can participate in Latham's comprehensive support offerings including healthcare, well-being programs, 401k Plan, firm-paid basic life and disability insurance, resources for parents and caregivers, family building support, and more! In addition, employees receive: 10 paid holidays per year and a PTO program that accrues 23 days during the first year of employment and grows with tenure; ongoing professional development opportunities, including firm-paid access to thousands of LinkedIn Learning courses online; and peer networking, mentoring, and professional support through staff affinity groups.
