CONSTRUCTION DEFECT ATTORNEY

The Houston office of an established law firm in the Galleria area, is actively searching for an attorney with a zero to three years of litigation experience. Construction and construction defect litigation a plus/not required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Applicants should have experience in litigation and insurance defense. Your organization, ability to follow procedures, time management, and attention to detail will be essential. Must possess excellent communication skills, ability and experience sufficient to defend clients in a variety of construction litigation matters and ability to work both independently and as a member of a defense team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend hearings, mediations, and conduct trials
• Argue motions, take effective depositions of lay and expert witnesses
• Consult with clients, opposing counsel, and the judiciary
• Coordinate the case handling with claims personnel

EDUCATION:

Doctorate degree and member in good standing of Texas State Bar

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Zero to three years of experience in litigation
• The ability to handle a case from inception to conclusion
• Deposition and trial experience a plus/not required
• Background in construction and construction defect litigation a plus/not required
• Insurance defense experience a plus
• Must have excellent writing, research and oral skills.
