    About the Role

    The Merger Clearance Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s Office Administration team. This role will be responsible for supporting the federal regulatory clearance process associated with the Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) act, while collecting, preparing, and reviewing merger agreements, financial statements, and deal documents for accuracy. This role will be located in our Washington D.C. office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.

    This roles offers an excellent opportunity for successful candidates to join a global law firm and work side-by-side with attorneys who are experts in their field while assisting clients as they work through the legal and regulatory framework associated with the mergers and acquisitions process.

    Overtime availability will be essential to this role and expectations for applicants is that they are able to commit to this team – either this position or advancement – for at least two years.

    Responsibilities & Qualifications

    Other key responsibilities include:

    • Assisting the team with the preparation of HSR filings, which includes drafting tailored information requests to clients and organizing exhibit logs for reach filling
    • Conducting company research using various government databases
    • Communicating and coordinating with team members across offices to meet HSR filing deadlines
    • Assisting with large-scale data organization projects, such as maintaining data tracking templates, collecting and compiling asset information by country, and maintaining all HSR files within Latham’s document management system
    • Assisting other team members with any and all aspects associated with the HSR premerger process

    We’d love to hear from you if you:

    • Exhibit demonstrated knowledge of legal concepts and methodologies
    • Demonstrate knowledge of database applications
    • Display knowledge and proficiency in PC applications, including MS Office, especially Excel

    And have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree
    • Prior work experience, preferably

    Pay Range

    USD $60,000.00 - USD $65,000.00 /Yr.
