Offit Kurman, a growing full-service law firm, is currently seeking a Family Law Legal Administrative Assistant to join its Baltimore, MD office. Candidates must possess three or more years of successful administrative support working as a legal administrative assistant or legal secretary in a family law practice or general commercial litigation practice.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary administrative responsibilities: Scheduling client meetings, managing calendars for hearing dates and court deadlines, opening new client files, letters of correspondence, regular client and court telephone & email communication, filing in Maryland jurisdictions, credit card coding and other internal processes.
Practice group responsibilities include:
• Revising pleadings, discovery, motions, subpoenas, deposition notices and other legal documents.
• Using knowledge of evidence, litigation, court rules, procedures and practices.
• Understanding of state and federal filing/e-filing policies and procedures.
• Performing a variety of document productions tasks, reviewing productions electronically, bates-stamping, redactions, creating trial binders and indexing.
• Attending team and client meetings, taking notes retaining important information.
• Analyzing case documents/data to identify trends or patterns of information.
• Performing a variety of projects independently and as assigned.
