  • Responsibilities

    Offit Kurman is currently seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist who will be responsible for supporting marketing and communications initiatives for the firm, its practice groups and individual attorneys. This position is partially remote and based in one of our Maryland, Virginia, or Pennsylvania offices. The individual will work closely with the Director of Marketing and other members of the Marketing team.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide support for firm, region and individual attorney media relations and communications initiatives.
    • Prepare and edit content including news releases, blog and social media posts, website news items and email communications.
    • Distribute press releases, develop media lists, coordinate responses to press inquiries and track media mentions.
    • Draft awards nominations/rankings for the firm, individual attorneys and groups; maintain awards calendar.
    • Assist with the development and editing of website content and associated updates.
    • Ensure editorial guidelines, voice and branding consistency throughout marketing collateral, both print and electronic.
    • Assist with the development and editing of attorney bios.
    • Assist attorneys with individual social media efforts.
    • The position may require occasional assistance with onsite and offsite events.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree with concentration in marketing, business or journalism/communications preferred.
    • The successful candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience with marketing, communications and media relations, preferably in a professional services organization.
    • Excellent writing and editing skills.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and with clients and potential clients, vendors and the media.
    • Must be organized and a self-starter, able to complete tasks with little direction and adhere to deadlines.
    • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Proficiency with developing and posting content to social media platforms.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MailChimp, Constant Contact, MS Teams, Go to Webinar, Zoom, WordPress, and various social media platforms.
    • Knowledge of Cision a plus.
