_ Hiring a Paralegal to work for Workers' Compensation Insurance Defense Attorneys. Do not submit resume if you have no W/C Insurance Defense Experience. Currently, this is a HYBRID position to assist our attorneys in the Coral Gables, FL area._
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: “Essential functions” are primarily job duties that incumbents must be able to perform unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation made by the employer.
- Reviews and analyzes cases in order to assist in preparation of case for final hearing.
- Reviews and analyzes matters for the purpose of preparing matter evaluations and status reports to clients.
- Drafts pleadings, responses, motions and petitions.
- Locates and confers with expert witnesses and resource people. Arranges for expert witness inspections and obtains approval from counsel of record and specified parties.
- Conducts research and locates cases, depositions, opinions, reports and information related to the matter.
- Contacts and interviews parties, witnesses and experts, including the obtaining of written statements from witnesses.
- Reviews and outlines depositions, indexes and summarizes documents.
- Utilizes computerized litigation techniques and software..
- Assists in **** preparation of the case for final hearing by drafting required documents.
- Performs assigned legal research tasks using all available resources.

- Knowledge of concepts, terminology, principles and procedures of law, specifically the 440 Statutes.
- Knowledge of methods and techniques of legal research and the use of statutes, codes and other legal resources and skill in analytical and problem-solving techniques.
- Skill in work management and organization.
- Skill in extracting and utilizing information from statutes, court decisions, legal documents, policies and related records.
- Skill in understanding the necessity and the ability to preserve and maintain confidential communications and legally privileged information.
- Skill in the use of personal computer and office equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with others.
- Available to attend events either in person or via video conferencing to facilitate reporting requirements to clients.
- Experienced and comfortable with the use of technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- TWO years of paralegal experience in the field of Workers' Compensation Law.
- Associate degree in any field which includes legal assistant course and/or paralegal studies OR equivalent certification.
- Any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education approved by Firm Administrator.
- Ability to write and speak Spanish is preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of ATO (formerly Client Profiles) or similar case management system is required.
