We work closely with emerging growth companies and established leaders in the life sciences, offering strategic, business-oriented IP counsel that goes beyond traditional prosecution. We are seeking a Senior Patent Attorney with deep experience in life sciences and a strong ability to engage directly with clients in a collaborative, high-trust environment. Position Overview This role is ideal for a seasoned patent professional who combines technical excellence with strong interpersonal skills and a practical, business-oriented mindset. You will work closely with founders, scientists, and executives to develop and execute IP strategies that align with broader commercial goals. The position offers significant client interaction and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping client relationships and long-term portfolio strategy. Responsibilities: • Prepare and prosecute U.S. and international patent applications in the life sciences space • Develop strategic patent portfolios aligned with the client's business objectives • Conduct patentability, freedom-to-operate, and landscape analyses • Advise clients on IP strategy, risk management, and competitive positioning • Support trademark matters, including clearance, prosecution, and strategy, as needed • Engage directly with clients to understand evolving technologies and business priorities • Contribute to the firm’s collaborative, client-focused culture • Conduct new client consults Qualifications: • Minimum 8+ years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution • Advanced degree ( Ph.D. required ) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field • Strong preference for candidates with industry experience in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology • Registered to practice before the USPTO • Admission to at least one state bar (for attorney candidates) Core Competencies • Exceptional communication skills , with the ability to translate complex scientific concepts into clear, strategic guidance • Strong client engagement skills and comfort working directly with sophisticated stakeholders • Business-minded approach to intellectual property strategy • Demonstrated ability to build trust with clients and contribute to the growth of client relationships over time. • Ability to identify opportunities to add value beyond immediate assignments • Collaborative mindset with a proactive and solutions-oriented approach • High level of organization and attention to detail Compensation: $150,000 - $200,00 + bonus
