    About the role

    • Looking for a practical, business minded attorney with experience across mar-tech, ad-tech, or other data-rich commercial environments with at least 4-8+ years of relevant industry experience. Data privacy specialists with the ability to flex to complex commercial contract negotiation when needed – please apply.
    • Join as the sixth attorney on a fast-paced legal team advising a high-growth international ecommerce enablement and marketing tech company with a footprint spanning four continents.

    Responsibilities

    • Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements with customers and suppliers, including online advertising, mar-tech, SAAS, strategic partnerships, data processing, data transfer and other commercial agreements.
    • Remain up-to-date on relevant consumer protection, commercial, advertising, IP, cyber-security and data protection laws and regulations to ensure an ongoing ability to provide excellent legal advice.
    • Provide concise and commercially astute counsel to Rokt’s fast growing global sales and partnerships teams.
    • Support the business with ongoing initiatives including compliance, corporate governance, process improvement, template development and training.

    Requirements

    • 4-8+ years of relevant legal experience at a top tier law firm and/or in house (preferably in a high growth technology and/or online advertising/marketing company).

    • JD and a strong academic background.

    • Working knowledge of laws relating to privacy and data protection (particularly CCPA and GDPR), advertising, consumer protection and deceptive trade and unfair marketing laws.

    • Legal drafting and negotiation skills with previous experience negotiating complex commercial agreements related to the above laws -- insertion orders/services agreements, marketing agreements, partnership agreements, publisher agreements, affiliate agreements, data agreements, licensing agreements, IAB terms… etc.

    • Project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and process a high volume of work in a timely and accurate manner with a high attention to detail.

    • Ability to problem solve in an efficient, business-friendly, creative manner.

    • Collaborative, team-oriented approach to working with colleagues.

    • High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.

    • A global perspective, and cross-cultural sensitivity.

    • Strong work ethic and a good sense of humor are a must!

    Qualifications

    To be successful in this role you have:

    • Law degree from U.S. accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. State bar.
    • 8+ years of relevant legal experience, ideally with a blend of Am Law 100 firm and in-house public company experience.
    • Broad experience in capital markets and U.S. corporate and securities law matters.
    • Familiarity with a wide variety of strategic transaction types (e.g., private company, public company, stock purchase, asset purchase, cross-border, minority investments, joint ventures, etc.).
    • Experience managing outside counsel.
    • Significant experience with Exchange Act and Securities Act disclosure requirements.
    • Effective communicator, with ability to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner. Comfortable in business and technical discussions.
    • Ability to work independently; exercise good judgment in determining when to consult management, colleagues, and clients in high pressure, fast paced environment.
    • Exceptional critical thinker with strong business acumen and judgment; must be able to work independently, manage multiple priorities and pivot between responsibilities.
    • Team player with ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
