    As an Audiovisual Contractor at Latham, you will be responsible for operating and providing technical support for all audio / visual components and technology equipment in conference rooms, including all display types, codecs, microphones, and control systems. Responsibilities also include AV events setup for meetings, seminars, white glove service, and tear down. The AV Contractor will coordinate with other offices and global and local teams, as appropriate, when scheduling video and audio conference calls and use the Firm’s scheduling application to create an inventory of requested technology equipment and ensure that all needs can be met. The Contractor is also expected to ensure that all conference rooms are properly outfitted with technology equipment, in conjunction with his or her manager, and regularly check that it is functioning properly. The responsibilities of the Contractor will also include :

     

    • Ensuring that all audiovisual and technology equipment and applications in conference rooms are functioning and ready for use in advance of the start of scheduled meetings (e.g., computers, displays, codecs, etc.)
    • Performing daily checks of the conference rooms to ensure that all equipment is working properly; coordinating with audiovisual technology vendor and / or other members of the Technology team when repairs / maintenance of conference room equipment is needed
    • Operating conference room equipment when necessary (e.g. starting videoconference call, setting camera and microphone positions, performing live switching during videoconference, transitioning through presentations, etc.)
    • Monitoring the Firm’s conference room scheduling system to ensure that technology inventory levels meet the needs of the scheduled meetings; resolving any conflicts with his or her immediate supervisor
    • Providing additional end-user technical support as needed, including but not limited to laptop connectivity issues, docking, printing, displaying in conference rooms, etc.
    • Meeting and coordinating with other Technology Department members, Hosts, and Clients about technology needs / support for upcoming meetings / events (e.g. Walk-throughs, Scheduling Meetings, Department Meetings, etc.)
    • Completing special projects regarding various issues as needed
    • Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers

     

    As a Contractor, you will be expected to apply your organizational and communication skills while displaying a positive, high-energy attitude. The successful Contractor must have knowledge of conference room technology (e.g. control systems, video systems, audioconference phones, microphones, displays, speakers, etc.) as well as knowledge working with IT and networking products. The ideal candidate will have the analytical skills needed to troubleshoot a variety of symptoms, diagnose problems and test, and recommend and implement solutions to technology problems. The Contractor should have well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, the ability to actively listen and identify both spoken and unspoken needs, along with the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus. The ideal candidate will have quick technical thinking and troubleshooting skills in the event technology is not working properly or a customer requires assistance.

     

    Experience with video conferencing technology, and an understanding of video bridge, along will familiarity with Zoom / Skype / GoToMeeting video conference platforms for external VCs is desired. Knowledge of PC and MAC technology support as it relates to AV and VC is required. Experience working with audiovisual equipment including video codecs, displays, digital sound processors, microphones, and cameras is required.
