The Iowa Judicial Branch is looking to fill a Juvenile Court Specialist 1 to assist the state. Due to an upcoming retirement, the Fifth District of the Judicial Branch has an exciting opportunity as a Juvenile Court Specialist 1 position. This position is under the leadership of the Assistant Chief Juvenile Court Officer. The position is located in the new Polk County Justice Center office. Responsibilities: - Extensive data entry and word processing duties - Responds to visitors and answers the telephone - Follows appropriate processes for use of the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS) - Records and updates information in ICIS - Prepares or drafts correspondence or other related documents - Assists JCO in gathering information - Open, organize and distribute the mail Judicial Branch Position Number: D5 13078-013 Minimum Qualification Requirements Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in social work, sociology, psychology, criminology, education or related program. Two (2) years of experience working with at-risk youth required. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education. Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor's Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of professional experience. Education cannot substitute customer service experience. Possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
