Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise. The Third Judicial District Department of Correctional Services is looking to fill an Residential Officer to assist the state. Under general supervision, performs paraprofessional tasks in the rehabilitation, control and security of clients in a community corrections facility. Performs related work as required. The successful candidate will have the ability to be insured under the district's auto insurance coverage; possess or ability to obtain a valid driver's license barring reasonable accommodation under Americans with Disabilities Act. Sioux City South Residential Facility 1 Floating Residential Officer The floating Residential Officer fills in for staff leave, training or other reasons for being away from their regular posts. (The float RO may be used in the District's Sioux City North Residential Facility). Minimum Qualification Requirements Two years college courses; or any equivalent combination of college education and human services or criminal justice experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to equal the two year minimum; OR Graduation from high school or a GED and two years of human services or criminal justice experience.
