Outdoor Education School Recruiting Manager
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The School Recruiting Manager focus is to establish, develop and foster relationships with teachers and school administrators with the ultimate goal of signing up groups to attend the AstroCamp program at the Virginia campus. The ideal candidate will have strong skills and experience in building relationships, establishing a network, public speaking, knowledge of science and science education, ability to create and execute school and facility promotional presentations and assisting in occasional program tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS

Individual must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as proven presentation skills. They also must be comfortable with both independent and team based work environments.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Teaching credentials or College level school degree in science; two-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees, and in person or by telephone with vendors, suppliers, and government officials.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current, valid Virginia Driver License and driving record acceptable to Guided Discoveries’ insurance company.

AstroCamp & Camp Motorsport is a co-ed summer camp for children age 8-17, located in Clover, Virginia .
Our AstroCamp program focuses on astronomy, physics, and outdoor adventure programming to create a summer experience like no other. Campers come each summer to make memories, have fun, and get hands-on science and astronomy training while participating in a variety of activities from the scientific to the fun! AstroCamp is a STEM program that pushes campers to deepen their understanding of science by participating in space exploration, playing in our state-of-the-art labs, building and launching rockets, and searching the night sky with our large array of telescopes.
Our Camp Motorsport program offers exciting and dynamic motorsport focused summer camp programs for girls and boys ages 9 to 17. Featuring 3.5 miles of flat track, custom made paved go kart track and 20 miles of off-road trails. Aspiring racers learn the finer points of driving technique from qualified instructors on both our racing go karts and off-road buggies. In addition to gaining valuable seat time, campers get hands-on experience with the STEM aspects of automotive design.
Outside of these programs we also offer a range of outdoor adventure activities.
