Summer Camp Counselors and Support Staff at Cheley Camps
Counselors live in cabins with campers and teach in a specific area: horseback riding, hiking, backpacking, outcamping, sports, sports/mountain biking, crafts, riflery or campfire (evening programs and special events).
Support staff live with other staff and work in a specific area: unit director or assistant director, medical (Doctor, RN, LPN, EMT), office (office assistant, travel coordinator), laundry, store, barn crew, transportation crew, food service (outcamp kitchen prep, head cook, assistant cook, kitchen assistant), program coordinators (crafts, ceramics, woodshop, riflery, ropes course, high ropes, low ropes, climbing wall, outcamping, Rockstock, fly fishing), and childcare.
Some positions require staff to drive cars, 15-passenger vans or larger vehicles.
All staff live and work in our camp community and may be asked at times to help the community in other ways outside of their normal job duties.
All staff have one day off and one night off per week.
We are a residential summer camp for children ages 9-17. We hire seasonal summer staff from June 1- August 4 and then there are additional work opportunities starting May 1 and ending Oct 15.
