Each athletic counselor is hired to teach a specific sport based on their experience and qualifications. Most have played at the high school and/or college level and many have previous coaching experience. Coaches will help boys ages 7 to 15 learn the basics of a specific sport.
In addition to teaching 3 to 4 classes a day, male counselors live in bunks with campers and female counselors serve as "bunk moms" to younger kids.
Our younger boys are introduced to the basics of tennis through the USTA Quick Start program. As players advance, they have instruction in all facets of the game to improve groundstrokes, serving, volleying and to learn strategies for both singles and doubles
Our top-notch facilities 17 courts (rivaling collegiate tennis camps), including five clay courts and courts lit for night play.

Camp Takajo is a premiere, traditional summer camp for boys. We offer a variety of activities in land sports, watersports, fine arts and outdoor education.
