What You'll Do

Primary Responsibility:

The Americold Summer Internship is a 12-week, full-time, paid assignment that takes place over the summer months. During this time, our Interns gain valuable knowledge related to their area of interest (i.e. Operations, Distribution, Finance, Internal Audit, etc.), while contributing to one of the COOLest business sectors. The internship includes assignments on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the opportunity to network with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

Essential Functions:

• The Infrastructure Cloud Engineer intern will work closely with the infrastructure teams to deliver efficient, reliable, scalable and secure cloud solutions.
• Basic understanding of infrastructure design and operations in a cloud environment like AWS and Microsoft Azure
• Work collaboratively with team members to design, develop, solve complex issues and document features, including the design and development of high-quality software
• Evaluate and recommend improvements on the current cloud infrastructure security and server alerting system to make them more intuitive and actionable.
• Developing and maintaining tools and applications related to user and group administration, hardware/software inventory, managing licenses, and software development environments.
• Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies
• Standardizing our Window and virtualization environments by optimizing and monitoring tools

What Experience You Need

• Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergrade or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field of study
• Exposure to Microsoft Office applications and Visio
• Knowledge of operating system fundamentals and computer architecture
• Able to understand network protocols at a basic level
• Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
