    What You'll Do

    Primary Responsibility:

    The Americold Summer Internship is a 12-week, full-time, paid assignment that takes place over the summer months. During this time, our Interns gain valuable knowledge related to their area of interest (i.e. Operations, Distribution, Finance, Internal Audit, etc.), while contributing to one of the COOLest business sectors. The internship includes assignments on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the opportunity to network with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

    Essential Functions:

    • The Infrastructure Systems Engineer intern will work with the infrastructure teams revising and updating existing documents where needed and creating new documents where there are gaps. Centralize all documentation into one organized location for the team the access.
    • Learn the current server infrastructure model.
    • Evaluate and recommend improvements on the current server infrastructure and server alerting system to make them more intuitive and actionable.
    • Developing and maintaining tools and applications related to user and group administration, hardware/software inventory, operating system builds, and software development environments.
    • Standardizing our Window and virtualization environments by optimizing and monitoring tools

    What Experience You Need

    • Currently enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field of study
    • Exposure to Microsoft Office applications and Visio
    • Knowledgeable of operating system fundamentals and computer architecture
    • Able to understand network protocols at a basic level.
    • Intellectually curious, collaborative, and eager to learn.
