  • Responsibilities

    PILOT LAST MILE is seeking full time CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE to work for our DETROIT STATION located in Romulus, MI.  The hours for this position vary.  Must be available to work nights and weekends. RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist the management team with opening and closing functions. This requires:

      • Assisting with route assigning, printing, reviewing documents for COD’s and other similar functions specific to each location. Confirm contractor uniform compliance and on time arrival by use of daily tracking report
      • Overseeing the ‘Route Dispatch Board’ and verifying completion of deliveries by route
      • Assisting in verifying procedures are followed regarding truck delays and communication to the stores and client
      • Validating that the pre-call functions are completed and procedures followed.
      • Auditing the billing process and validating that all paperwork is processed and filed as directed
    • Answer the main telephone line. This requires:

      • Using a clear and understandable speaking voice
      • Dispatching calls to the appropriate individuals using phone or Nextel radios
      • Providing customers with updates on the status of their delivery with information from the computer system
      • Completing pre-calls to customers notifying them of their delivery window
    • Arranging in-home delivery and coordinating documentation for customers. This requires:

      • Receiving information from the customer
      • Getting directions to the customer’s home
      • Inputting delivery route and time frame information into the client’s computer
      • Reports results of data entry on various client forms
      • Data entry of all returned and refused merchandise
      • Assist in managing customer damage claim process
      • Explaining the scheduling policy to the customer
    • Process C.O.D’s:

      • Accepts payment for complete deliveries.
      • Processes check and credit card purchases according to client’s procedure
      • Verify acceptance of check or credit COD to authorize transaction in a timely manner.
    • Interface directly with client reps and managers.

    • Assist in completion and transmission of weekly inventories.

    • Coordinate receipt of signed manifests from outlying markets.

    • Completes other responsibilities as assigned by a member of the management staff

    • Attendance and Punctuality are essentials functions of the job

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have some Customer Service background
    • Must be detail-oriented
    • Must have excellent computer and communication skills
    • Must have the ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment
