The 2017 Summer Internship program is for students enrolled in major fields of study that align with full-time employment opportunities at John Deere.
Students may enter the program during undergraduate or graduate studies. The majority of our internship experiences are offered in the summer months, usually lasting 13 weeks.
Our analytic internships will provide an opportunity to glean real world project management within a specific department and functional area while fostering your analytical mindset.
Opportunities exist across varied functional areas such as Financial Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Order Fulfillment and Engineering.
Potential duties could include:
Lead and/or support key analytics projects
Explore and integrate large amounts of data points
Learn and apply analytical techniques
Utilization of forecasting and time series methods
Engaging and collaborating with key business stakeholders
To qualify for our internship program, you must be an active student currently working to obtain an undergraduate or graduate level degree in a related major such as: Social Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Decision Science, Risk Management or Economics.
Additionally, you will have:
Desired cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, minimum cumulative GPA required of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Exposure to techniques such as regression, cluster analysis, and scoring models
Exposure to project management, data analysis and business requirements gathering
Experience working in large database programs such as HADOOP, NETEEZA, ACCESS, SPSS, SAS or R
Additionally, some positions will require a computer science focus with experience in programming such as SQL.
