    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As an ASSEMBLY MANUFACTURING ENGINEER, for the John Deere Construction & Forestry Division (Dubuque Works), you will be responsible for supporting the Forestry Cab Line through Order Fulfillment Processes (OFP).  In addition, you will:

    • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) - improving Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery through data driven proactive projects
    • Investigate quality issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
    • Participate in PFMEA's and Control Plans
    • Apply mistake proofing methodology proactively to high risk processes and recurring quality nonconformance issues
    • Develop and modify Operator Method Sheets (visual work instructions) as required
    • Support Assembly & Manufacturing Execution System (AMES) and all manufacturing equipment in areas assigned
    • Develop & improve on plan for every part including specified locations for point of use parts & storage parts
    • Support multi-functional Quality Improvement Teams (QIT) tasked with improving overall assembly quality

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    • Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering experience gained from educational projects, relevant internships or practical work experience.
    • Understanding of manufacturing processes, quality, tooling, preventative maintenance and facilities
    • 2 or more years of experience with engineering tools, systems and databases
    • 2 or more years of experience with line and process design, material presentation, cycles of imbalance and visual management tools

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    Other areas of experience or interest that will help us place you on the right team include:

    • Knowledge of assembly line processes and how material flow fits into the bigger picture of enabling efficient production
    • Experience with AutoCAD, and Creo View software
    • Experience with Wplanner work instruction and OMS development
    • Experience with MES systems and tooling
    • Experience implementing engineering changes

    EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE)

    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Operations discipline
