    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As an EMBEDDED ANALYTICS ENGINEER working for the Construction and Forestry Division located in Dubuque IA you will support systems data definition, collection, and analysis as it pertains to whole machine configurations.  In addition, you will:

    • Leverage field data to provide observations and recommendations for customer-driven product design requirements
    • Lead in the development of embedded algorithms to perform data acquisition, estimation, and processing
    • Collaborate with product teams to identify data collection requirements, specify the sensors and observers needed to collect the necessary data, and/or perform the calculations to obtain the desired data
    • Document software requirements in support of data acquisition, estimation, and processing
    • Work with software engineers to integrate algorithms into embedded software projects
    • Integrate with the WorkSight Solutions team to develop configuration files for accurate accumulation and reporting of data
    • Report results using the Deere reporting system
    • Document processes that can be used to continually improve our ability to analytically develop and define product design requirements
    • Develop a growing understanding of C&F product function, specific configuration options, and the mechanical and embedded machine systems

  • Qualifications

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    • Demonstrated knowledge in physics and mathematics, and basic knowledge in statistical methods and embedded systems development
    • Experience with an analytical processing software, examples include MathWorks, Python, and/or R
    • Demonstrated engineering and/or data analysis experience

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    • Experience and/or knowledge of off-highway equipment
    • Expert level understanding in embedded-controls, hydraulic systems, and/or powertrain systems
    • Extensive knowledge in MATLAB and Simulink software, dynamic simulation modeling, control theory, and analysis
    • Experience working with JDLink and/or data acquisition
    • Knowledge of the Deere Enterprise Product Delivery Process
    • Master’s degree in an Engineering or Data Analysis discipline

    EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE)

    • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Data Analysis discipline or equivalent experience.
