  • Responsibilities

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER for John Deere Construction and Forestry Division located in Dubuque, IA, you will work in a cross-functional team environment to design and implement structural components for new crawler programs that meet engineering specifications. In addition, you will:

    • Collaborate with others to solve difficult design problems in consideration of quality, cost, manufacturability, and performance
    • Proficiently use Creo to create models and drawings for your designs
    • Champion your designs through the product development process from idea creation, through virtual and physical build, testing, and production implementation

  • Qualifications

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    • Prior engineering experience (including any internships) 
    • Knowledge of designing or testing structural components
    • Experience with Creo or other similar 3D modeling and drawing creation
    • Experience with mobile equipment applications
    • Demonstrated effective communication skills
    • Experience in roles demonstrating effective problem solving skills

     

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    • Structural design experience with large construction and/or agricultural equipment
    • Experience collaborating with FEA and structural validation tools and processes
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes for engineering materials
    • Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
    • Experience working with suppliers

    EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT WORK EXPERIENCE)

    Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree.
