    Primary Location: United States (US) - California (US-CA) - Tulare  Function: Product Engineering Title: Product Engineer - 35640

    YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

    As a PRODUCT ENGINEER for John Deere, you will oversee the Tulare, CA test site supporting self-propelled forage harvesters and heads.  You will work with contract test technicians assigned to the site.  In addition, you will:

    • Manage the shop, vehicles, tools and test equipment
    • Be responsible for remote site administration duties
    • Coordinate, execute and document field test plans in cooperation with the Zweibrucken factory
    • Evaluate design solutions to improve cost, quality and performance of the SPFH and heads
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose machine performance and reliability issues
    • Work closely with Zweibrucken Product Engineering in developing and executing test plans specific to the above evaluations

    WHAT SKILLS YOU NEED

    • Experience with field operations (could be another company or farm experience)
    • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of roles and cultures
    • Strong organizational and mechanical background
    • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50%
    • Valid passport

    WHAT MAKES YOU STAND OUT

    • 6+ months of experience working with John Deere Hay and Forage equipment
    • Knowledge of self-propelled forage harvesting equipment
    • Technical experience related to the design/diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems
    • Experience with John Deere Product testing procedures and systems (i.e. V2 net, EETS, and/or NCCA)

    EDUCATION (OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE)

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Ag Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
