    Overview

We invite you to participate in Cornerstone Research's Sophomore Summit, which will be held virtually from Wednesday, May 22nd – Thursday, May 23rd 11:00 AM EST – 5:00 PM EST.

Do you have an interest in economics or finance?  How about the intersection of law and business?  Cornerstone Research's Sophomore Summit is the perfect opportunity for you to learn about the world of economic consulting - a niche industry that uses the principles of economics, finance, and data in legal/regulatory proceedings to help resolve front-page problems!

    Responsibilities

The Sophomore Summit is a two-day developmental program for second-year undergraduate students (graduating in 2026) with an interest in consulting, economics, and/or finance.  This unique experience offers the opportunity to understand what economic consulting is, learn about career opportunities that exist at Cornerstone Research, obtain hands-on experience through a mini-project, and get to know the types of individuals who work at our firm.  If you are looking to hone your industry knowledge, identify future job opportunities, and network with current consultants, the Sophomore Summit is a great fit for you!

    Qualifications

    Minimum qualifications:

    • Must be a second-year undergraduate student currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an anticipated graduation in spring/summer 2026
    • Self-identify with at least one historically underrepresented group: Black or African American, Hispanic or Latinx, East Asian, South/Southeast Asian, Middle Eastern, Native/Indigenous, Pacific Islander, LGBTQ2+, Veteran, disabled, and/or first generation college student
    • Strong interest in economics, finance, and/or consulting
    • Taken or enrolled in one college-level economics, finance, or computer science course by the time of the program
    • Available for the full two-day program on dates and times provided

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Two completed economics, finance, or computer science courses
    • Minimum GPA of 3.3

To apply for Sophomore Summit, please complete our application and be sure to include your resume and unofficial transcript* by 11:59 PM EST March 29, 2024. Note that as part of the application, you will be asked to write a 250-300 word statement describing your interest in the program, in the form of a cover letter.

This statement should highlight your interest in the Sophomore Summit program, as well as your interest in economics and/or finance.

*We recognize that some institutions have not issued grades for recent semesters. This is not a problem; please still submit a transcript/list of classes taken.
