JOB DESCRIPTION:

ADVISORY SERVICES – TRANSACTION SERVICES OVERVIEW:

As an Advisory Services – Transaction Services Intern you will have the opportunity to utilize your background in accounting and finance, while honing your financial analysis skills in a dynamic and fast-paced M&A environment. You will play a key role in helping our clients maximize value in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital markets while solving complex business problems.

TRANSACTION SERVICES RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE

• Mergers and acquisitions: Perform buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence for clients and target companies across multiple industries including manufacturing and distribution, healthcare, technology, construction, restaurant and retail, business services, and food and commodities.

• Conduct engagements in compliance with applicable professional, regulatory, and firm requirements; deliver high-quality services by applying results of data analysis; possess knowledge of financial and emerging management concepts and accounting and operational systems; provide value-added strategies or services to assist clients in achieving business objectives.

• Prepare various analyses, review financial records, and conduct interviews with client and target management to analyze quality of earnings (EBITDA), net working capital, and other financial results.

• Assist in identifying issues and providing strategies to aid clients with strategic decisions, purchase price adjustments, deal restructuring, or deal termination.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION:

• Accounting undergraduate degree required – must be CPA eligible upon graduation

• CPA desired, or at least show progress toward CPA certificate

• Prior experience (internships or group projects) in corporate finance or accounting preferred

• Desire to grow within the M&A space

• Skill for analyzing large financial data in EXCEL

• Desirable courses taken may include M&A Finance, Private Equity focused investing/finance, EXCEL/big data management, or capital markets courses. 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications with specific emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint

• Familiarity and/or proficiency with data analytics applications like PowerBI and/or Tableau

• Good client service experience required

• Must be willing to travel up to 25% if/when COVID-19 restrictions allow it.
