Ameresco currently has a new opportunity based in the greater Columbus/Cincinnati/Dayton, OH area for a Business Development Manager to lead and drive energy efficiency and renewable technology business development activities in the K-12 market throughout that region.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to identify, target, qualify, and secure prospects for new energy efficiency, performance contract, turnkey construction, and renewable business opportunities;
Lead, drive, and manage sales activities and resources from lead generation through development and implementation;
Formulate marketing and business development forecasts, plans, and activities to increase company presence in defined markets and achieve regional objectives;
Develop, manage, and execute individual and regional sales pipelines;
Serve as key point of contact with customer and lead all presentations;
Oversee the successful development, organization, strategic positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning proposals and presentations;
Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, and customer-oriented solutions;
Exhibit comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project proposal and contract terms;
Coordinate the development interface with project management and operations teams to assure customer satisfaction;
Cultivate positive and effective business relationships; and
Perform other duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 5 years’ leadership experience driving marketing and sales activities to develop, secure, and implement multi-million dollar energy efficiency, conservation, and renewable technology performance contract project opportunities;
Excellent verbal, written, technical and computer communication and presentation skills required;
Valid Drivers’ License in good standing, issued by resident state required;
U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Resident status required; and
Travel required.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
BA/ BS Degree. Advanced Education desirable;
May be required to pass security clearance investigation
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and business relationships;
Advanced MS Office proficiency. Knowledge of energy analysis software desirable;
Demonstrated business development, cultivation, relationship management skills with ability to identify customer needs and effectively communicate, position, negotiate, and close solutions sales;
Proven ability to analyze and quantify energy and operational needs, use, savings, including energy efficiency, renewable technology, and associated structured financing project development experience;
Excellent working knowledge of building automation and energy management systems, facility operations and installations involving chiller and boiler plants, motors, VSDs, HVAC retrofit, conservation, distributed generation, energy efficiency, and renewable technology projects; and
Superior financial planning, budgeting, and organizational resource management abilities.
