IBM's Global Selection Team, part of BM's Talent Acquisition organization, is focused on the design, development, implementation and ongoing support of industry leading selection and assessment capability to isolate the best talent for IBM. The team also provides day to day custom analytics, governance and decision support for external (~50,000 new hires per year globally) hiring and staffing decisions.

IBM's Global Selection Team has an internship opening for a student enrolled in a PhD Industrial-Organizational (I-O) Psychology, Occupational Psychology, Organizational Behavior or related discipline program. The intern will work on global assessment, quality of hire, talent and other research projects to drive transformation of Talent Acquisition processes and solutions.

As an intern, you will partner on the design, development, and implementation of traditional (e.g. personality, cognitive ability, coding, structured interviews) and next generation (e.g., cognitive computing, gamification) assessments used globally across all business units and job families. In addition, you will conduct analyses to inform and understand the impact of these solutions on the quality of IBM’s new hires – designing and executing research projects that ensure selection and assessment is helping to drive IBM’s business imperatives. You will translate findings into actionable insights, communicate results to key stakeholders, and influence process changes. Candidates should have foundation in quantitative and research methods coupled with demonstrated business acumen and an ability to present complex information to nonacademic audiences.

The internship is for one year and will be located in either Armonk, NY, Cincinnati, OH, or Raleigh, NC.
