We develop industry-leading hardware for IBM Systems, storage, and related products, including OpenPower and System Z enterprise systems. Development engineers are provided the opportunity to participate and learn in various aspects of the development and test process, such as: architecture, logic design, circuit design, verification, synthesis, physical design and layout, simulation, performance modeling, chip integration, design methodology, and power optimization. Basic requirements: * Candidates should have solid programming skills (for example, C, VHDL, Verilog), design, test, and communication skills. * Team-based experience in Microprocessor design, circuit/logic design, power systems, verification, analysis or testing is a plus. * Candidates with at least 3 months of team-based working experience are preferred but not required. Candidates working towards degrees in fields related to computer hardware technology (for example, electrical engineering, computer engineering) will be considered. This position is for individuals who are currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree. This position is in Austin, TX. Positions may be also available for different seasons and durations. IBM Power dominates the Unix market and now has its sights set on accomplishing the same in Linux. System Z dominates the mainframe market and is growing with Linux offerings and delivering near 0 downtime enterprise computing to emerging countries. The Watson supercomputer is built exclusively on Power processors.
