Coord - 354 - Orientation Centers Salary FT Tuesday, July 31, 2018 -Work Location: Jefferson, GA SUMMARY This position has a strong impact on the safety practices of BCO's, and their consequences. Instruct BCO's and Operators at first 120-day anniversary on Landstar policies, practices and procedures with regard to safety, thus reducing frequency of accidents and increasing retention figures. Assist BCO's in developing a business plan that maximizes revenue opportunities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned. Provide an open forum where BCO's and Operators are encouraged to discuss best practices as it relates to safety and running a successful business. Re-emphasize decision driving techniques and how it relates to Landstar's crash experiences. Update BCO and Operator files in i series 400, as needed, daily. Emphasize the importance of the "tools" Landstar offers (Resource Guide, Landstar.com, cell/web phones, LCN, IVR System, Trip Recorders, etc). Provide solutions for BCO and Operator questions/problems/concerns. Offer suggestions and ideas on instruction of BCO's and Operators. Perform as a back-up for orientation coordinators and field representatives, including class instruction, as needed. Attend orientations and events, as requested. Handle incoming calls from BCO's and Operators. Participate in safety meetings. May be during non-business hours (weekends) or offsite, as needed. Evaluate, qualify and monitor operators for Empty Nest program. Must perform duties to the standards of the job description and comply with the company's policies, practices, and procedures. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to read, write and speak English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Ability to acquire National Safety Council Defensive Driver Certificate. A valid driver's license.
