Description of Assignment: The Corporate Communications Intern is responsible for creating and acquiring content for Maritz Motivation Solutions intranet and presentations for internal communication efforts. This role will report to the Director of Communications to produce high-quality and shareable content online as well as for internal meetings and town halls. This role will have writing and content management responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Include: * Assisting with writing and editing content, including feature articles, news items, video/multimedia and infographics for Maritz Motivation Solutions intranet. * Working with stakeholders to identify key stories relating to business and corporate strategies. This includes collaborating on story themes and goals and identifying the stakeholders content requirements. * Working closely with Communications Director/marketing team to identify new content areas and areas of improvement on intranet. * Creating and managing editorial calendars, providing original content to be shared across different channels (digital screens, intranet, print, emails, etc.) * Working with stakeholders to ensure consistency in brand story telling. * Monitor digital channel analytics and report out to management. Requirements: * Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, public relations or liberal arts discipline requiring significant writing * Expected graduation date in May or August, 2019 * Ability to work between 10-20 hours per week at our Fenton offices * Exceptional writing and editing skills * Affinity for and experience in creating excellent content, keeping up to date on digital best practices * Exceptionally strong verbal communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex technical information into compelling messages for broader audiences * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Ability to work with cross-functional teams * Desire to work with people at multiple levels in the organization, including executive team Desired Skills: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and PowerPoint * Experience working with a web-based content management system preferred * General knowledge of video and photography This candidate will be required to submit a writing sample and also write a story based on content I provide during the interview process.
