    Communications Intern - Fall 2018 Internships New York, New York Description Overall summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic Communications Intern to join our New York office this Fall. This role is part of a team that is accountable to promote a positive public image and control the external dissemination of information on our companys behalf, including all industry, client and consumer-facing PR media efforts (earned and paid), external and client-facing events, as well as internal touchpoints that reinforce a consistent image and message for News America. The team will work closely with our Communications/PR Agency, and collaborate with any News Corp or sister division efforts regarding press and public image. Phenomenal communication and copywriting skills make a strong communications candidate. Enthusiasm and positive attitude will help gain the trust of colleagues and external parties alike. With guidance from News America's Communications team, the Communications Intern will end the Fall semester with an enhanced knowledge of the social media landscape, marketing tactics across a variety of industries, and the ingredients that go into developing an effective PR campaign and successful event programs. Highlight: This Fall's Communications intern will work closely with the News America Communications team and our external hospitality partner on the planning, production and execution of the company's weekend program during Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta. Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities include: 1. Be the arms and legs of the NAM Communications team, to execute our Communications strategy with excellence, in order to advance News Americas new positioning in the industry. 2. Work with the NAM Communications agency and any other resources needed to execute on the earned and paid PR initiatives. 3. Collaborate with NAM HR and News Corp partners to reinforce News America positioning throughout all relevant touchpoints, including regular company wide meetings. 4. Provide support during the planning, production and execution of the News America weekend program during Super Bowl LIII. 5. Help execute consumer-facing communications strategy for Smart Source brand and related products and partnerships (eg website and social media activations). 6. Execute industry and client-facing events for News America Marketing Qualifications: · Journalism or Communications major · Excellent communication (oral and written) · Previous Communications experience in-house or at an agency a plus · Excellent attention to detail and project management skills · Understanding of and experience with social media platforms preferred · Going into their Senior year · 3.0 GPA · Local to NYC News America Marketing, a subsidiary of News Corp [NASDAQ: NWS, NWSA; ASX: NWS, NWSLV] is the premier marketing partner of some of the worlds most well-known brands.
