    Medical Writer - Managed Markets Updated: Today Location: Saratoga Springs, NY, United States Job ID: 6ofiyOuOmYv8 Overview The Managed Markets group at Syneos Health is looking for a Medical Writer to join their team in Saratoga Springs, New York. The Medical Writer will be responsible for creating medical content for her/his respective healthcare accounts. Additionally, he/she will research, review, and write scientific and technical documentation for assigned healthcare accounts; includes responsibility for the planning and development of enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts. Description of Duties The position requires close collaboration with other medical writers, senior medical writers, associate medical directors, medical directors and editors. The Medical Writer is a key component of each brand team, discovering and distilling medical information and data relevant to assigned products and therapeutic categories. The Medical Writer also supports the brand copy team in developing compelling messages and promotional materials. As such, the Medical Writer is the agency expert in assigned categories and serves as a client consultant in interpreting medical data, determining threats, and developing opportunities for assigned products. Description of Duties Provide medical strategy guidance to team Responsible for the development of content for enduring materials, slide sets, and manuscripts Authoring/preparing "white papers"/clinical monographs Work with copywriters to develop scientifically accurate copy Function as lead technical writer on scientific/medical projects Research of specific therapeutics, drugs, devices, technologies, etc Ongoing review of current literature for related topics, including competitors Authoring/preparing "white papers," clinical monographs and original publications, scientific conference reports Assist faculty in writing clinical papers Communicates with thought leaders to ensure accuracy and quality of content in scientific projects Work with team to develop scientifically accurate copy, including the use of accurate and up-to-date references Travels to scientific meetings to gather data for planned or potential publications Assist in the development of Educational Needs Assessments and create educational objectives for all educational programs Reviews collateral directed to professionals (i.e., physicians/nurses) Develops medically relevant promotional copy (slide kits, brochures, etc) Minimum Requirements Minimum Requirements MD, PharmD, PhD, or MS in biological sciences preferred 0 - 3 years of medical writing experience Key Competencies Solid understanding of the science and managed markets dynamics of assigned brands. Thorough understanding of editing and regulatory processes and requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Efficiency in handling multiple assignments at one time. Exceptional computer skills. Knowledge of PC operating platform a must. Knowledge of Macintosh a plus. Thorough knowledge of the following software applications is required: Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat.
