Undergraduate Intern / Co-op Program Overview
3 to 6 month intern / co-op within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.

We are looking for an exceptional MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING CO-OP/INTERN who can...
Develop, implement and maintain methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.
Supports efforts for lean continuous improvement projects that support manufacturing and the business .
Other responsibilities may include prepare test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.
What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity:
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program for Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
CAD experience with SolidWorks as a preference
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing concepts is a plus
Knowledge of Process Improvement techniques
3rd or 4th year student desired
Ability to work on tasks effectively, independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment
Skilled at retrieving, gathering, and analyzing data
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience problem solving through engineering methods and techniques
