Provide technical support in the analysis, design, and testing of advanced breakthrough technologies in the areas of remote plasma sources, reactive gas generators, flow and pressure measurement.
The person must be able to work independently with limited supervision in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly technical environment and work on multiple concurrent cross-functional projects.
A successful candidate must be highly self-motivated and hands-on with a can-do mentality. An excellent understanding of chemistry and applied physics, with an emphasis on chemical precursors and their role in various processes such as gas-phase reactions and chemical vapor deposition, is highly desired.
Analyze trends in semiconductor industry process chemistries with a focus on potential plasma source applications.
Work with a senior scientist to characterize the performance and behavior of various plasma sources for a variety of industrial applications.
Design and set up test benches, perform experiments, collect and analyze data to achieve project objectives with an emphasis on plasma-materials interaction and product characterization in various process gases.
Identify and troubleshoot problems in prototypes.
Interface with product engineering and cross-functional teams as required.
What will you bring to the team, along with your inquisitiveness:
Enrollment in a graduate program specializing in Materials Science, Physics, or Chemistry.BS in these areas is required
Expected graduation date of December 2023 or May 2024
Hands-on skills in an R&D laboratory are required.
Familiarity with semiconductor chemistries and processes are desired, specifically gas-phase interactions, surface deposition processes, and vacuum chemistries.
Basic understanding of plasma chemistry/physics, materials chemistry, materials processing, thin film and coating principles desired. Strong analytical capability is a must.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must be versed in using MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
Proficiency with MATLAB desirable.
Qualified candidates should be US Persons.
