    Undergraduate Intern / Co-op Program Overview

    • 3 to 6 month intern / co-op within a functional area of MKS Instruments that provides students a comprehensive and engaging experience from before your program starts to after the program ends.

    • Meaningful work and project assignments

    Through our partnership with UMass Lowell, we are looking for an exceptional DATA ANALYST INTERN who can help create executable insights through data analytics and machine learning for divisional business intelligence and goals.

    • Combine data from various sources and create/update Power BI dashboards, generating distributed business insights.

    • Data analytics based on industrial marketing reports that would generate additional competitive and customer intelligence to guide business operations.

    • Build correlation and regression models (with Python or R) to generate new insights from customer/competitor/market data

    • Potentially utilizing machine learning methods to detect business and/or technology inflections.

    • Generate and present discoveries

    What will you bring to the team, along with your curiosity, are your passion for learning, sensitivity to data, and spirit for exploration, in addition to the following skillsets/backgrounds:

    • Applicants must be enrolled as students at UMass Lowell

    • 3rd or 4th year student at UMass Lowell

    • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program.

    • Intermediate to fluent level on business reporting using Excel. Fundamental statistics (sum/average/trendlines) and pivot tables.

    • Have taken computer science/engineering courses and knowledge of minimum 1 programming language. Python preferred.

    • Basic to intermediate level of Statistics.

    • Fundamental understanding of Business Operations and Finance measures - Income statement, Cash flow, Balance Sheet.

    • High level of self-motivation and goal oriented time management

    • Experience with cleaning, aggregating, and processing data from various sources preferred.
